Merumaya Gentle Exfoliating Toner Review

Since I started blogging, I've been much more interested to learn more about skincare and find a proper routine that actually works for me, and stick to it. After a lot of experimenting, I feel like I almost have my perfect skincare routine but the only thing missing was a toner. I've tried out quite a few and I have to say, I've found them all a bit meh. I haven't felt like I've found out that genuinely makes a difference to my skin so it tends to be the step I always miss out.

I had recently reviewed the Merumaya Iconic Youth Serum (you can read it here) and fell in love with the brand, so when I was told about their Gentle Exfoliating Toner, I definitely wanted to give it a try.

Merumaya Gentle Exfoliating Toner

The packaging and brand of Merumaya products is always clean and consistent which I really love. This bottle is 128ml which is a perfect size to take away with you (it drives me mad when products are massive, heavy and bulky weighing down my suitcase!)

"Our Gentle Exfoliating Toner™ is powered by Natural Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) to gently yet effectively peel away dead skin, detoxify, cleanse and refine pores to reveal fresh smooth skin. It contains a complex of moisturising active ingredients to prevent skin drying out after the exfoliation." source
Merumaya are certain this product can work it's magic on all skin types, but I can only speak of behalf of my extremely dry skin. Since using this toner, I have noticed a definite reduction in my dry patches and also, overall a softer more supple feeling skin - like I've just had a facial.

Using this toner also made me realise that my cleanser isn't doing as good of a job as I thought. Whilst on the surface it looked like all my makeup was off, so much more came off on the cotton wool pad with the toner on. Using this product definitely felt like every inch of makeup was off and my skin was clean and fresh.

What I also love about this product is that when tipped upside down to put on a cotton wool pad, it only comes out in small drips. I know this sounds like such a small thing but it means no wastage of product and more important no dripping it all over the place when it comes pouring out. I've been using this day and night for nearly three weeks and you can see from the photo above, I've only used a really small amount.

I highly recommend anyone to check out the Merumaya website to find out more about their products. I know I mentioned it on a previous post but I love how much depth it goes into about the science of each ingredient; what it is, why it's in the product and what it does and also tips on how to get the best from it. I think on the whole we are becoming more interested in what's in our products so it's a really really interesting read.
