Westin Palace Madrid Review

I’m very lucky that in my job, I get to travel a lot, and visit some beautiful places and hotels, as well as it being a great experience, they’re good to blog about too, and today’s post is no different!

On the whole, when it comes to luxury hotels, I’m usually more a fan of modern luxury, and not so much the classic look and feel, but the infamous Westin Palace in Madrid, won my heart. Having always been a fan of the Starwood property portfolio, I knew this hotel wasn’t going to disappoint but it certainly exceeded expectations.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Review

Usually, when there’s massive hype about a product in the world of beaut bloggers, I rarely, rarely buy it as the majority of the time they’re over hyped and under performing. I didn’t but the Kylie lip kits (and have no interest in them), I don’t like Benefit roller lash (or any of their mascaras) and I don’t own a Naked palette – although I am quite tempted by Naked Smokey… Anyway, when it comes to beauty products, I usually find, the more over hyped it is, the most disappointing I find it, so I rarely buy into the ‘trends’.

There’s no denying, that in the world of beauty, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is the go to cleanser for so many bloggers. Barely a day goes by without seeing someone talking about it on social media, which is something pretty unique for a product in the ever changing, ever evolving market of beauty.  I did mention in my 'What's in my makeup bag' vlog that I wasn't overly impressed with my current cleanser and looking to try something new then after reading a couple of reviews by bloggers who I truly trusted – not just to tag on to hypes, but to tell the truth about products, I decided it was time to try it for myself.

Cook With Me Vlog; Homemade Chicken Nuggets and Sausage Rolls

When I first started YouTube, I was pretty clear in my mind that I didn't just a beauty channel. Whilst I find beauty vlogs the easiest to film, I'm not very good at make up and don't experiment too much so I don't think I'm in any position to be offering make up tutorials - I wouldn't even take my advice...

I want my YouTube channel to be an extension of my blog, which means the categories you see right now at the top of your screen are ALL, the topics I want to carry forward to YouTube in one way or another. Everything I write about is a massive hobby of mine so bringing words to life with film in all of those areas is really important to me, and my new channel.

This vlog/recipe is part of my 'Food and Drink Simplified' series. All of the recipes will be easy to follow, using utensils and ingredients you can buy in your local supermarket and prepare with little or no skill involved - because great food doesn't need to be complicated!!

So, that being said, here is my first Cook With Me vlog! One of many more to come I hope as I love cooking and baking. This time, I was preparing homemade sausage rolls and chicken nuggets for an Easter Sunday family house warming.

WeightWatchers Scales Review

When it comes to weight, there’s a massive dividing opinion on whether you should or shouldn’t take into account what the scales say. It is most definitely true that the scales do not show the full picture. There are many contributing factors to the final number that makes up your weight, and one ‘healthy’ weight for one person, may not be for another.

I for one, have never been reliant in any way on how much the scales said I weighed. The number jumps up and down depending on how much food and water I’ve had, how long ago that was, what the time of day and month I’m weighing myself and a zillion other factors. However, there are measures of my body, that are extremely important to me, and I’ve finally found a pair of scales to measure them.

Bloom & Wild Letterbox Flower Bouquet Delivery Service Review

I absolutely love having flowers around my house, particularly in our newly decorated very white house, it just brings a pop to colour to a room, refreshing and brightening it. I love sending and receiving flowers in the post but unfortunately rarely do so for two main reasons

  1. either the recipient may not be home which causes delivery problems or the flowers get delivered to work and have to survive the commute home
  2. As you don’t chose the flowers yourself, you can’t quality check them
After a disastrous Mother’s Day bouquet delivery from a company who shall not be named, I wasn’t intending to send another any time soon… and then I found out about Bloom & Wild Flower Delivery.

A unique and innovative concept, Bloom & Wild allows you to either order online or through their app (I LOVE that more companies are creating apps), and they’ll send out the most beautiful bouquet in a well presented box that fits through the letter box!

Sleep in Rollers Review

Sleep in Rollers are another product I’ve been meaning to try for absolutely ages but have never got around to it. Whilst at Olympia Beauty in October, I spotted the Sleep in Rollers stand and the deal they were offering on the day was just too good to turn down so I ended up buying the Sleep in Rollers Bombshell Blowdry set along with a whole bag of brushes.

When I say my hair is flat, it’s literally an understatement. The amount of hairdressers that have tried everything to inject some volume into it is unbelievable and even when I do manage the might feat, it lasts about an hour and then goes limp. Brilliant.

I was definitely dubious whether 1. Sleep in rollers actually work and 2. it’s even physically possible to sleep in them. They are a spongey foam material so I guess they are quite squishy when you lay down but surely they’ll all fall out during the night?

The set came with a set of large and smaller foam rollers, clips to secure the rollers, a DVD (which I haven't actually watched yet!), a blowdry hood and a perfect carry bag for everything.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

There’s no denying that the world of the beauty sponges has grown massively in recent years. Having only used a sponge when I was about 14, trying and failing to apply makeup with those silly dense white sponges (you know what I mean right?!), I wasn’t exactly convinced that the new sponges on the market would be massively different. I had also been put off by horror stories of maggots and rotting sponges on the inside, as well as the costs of having to replace them every couple of months. Anyway, negatives aside, I couldn’t get away from the fact that every blogger I knew, read, and watched on YouTube were all relying on their sponges to get that flawless finish.

For my birthday last month, Jenny (www.dreaminpink.co.uk) bought m the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I was SO happy to have the push to finally try it. I’m a massive fan of Real Techniques and am I massive supporter of Sam and Nic Champan as I have worked with them previously, so I couldn’t wait to give it a go. Of course, as always, I used the sponge before taking photos, but I literally could not wait!
